A native Bahamian, Scott Ferguson was raised and educated in Freeport, Grand Bahama, and has been an entrepreneur his entire life, working in a variety of industries including retail, passenger marine transport and construction/development. Prior to Hurricane Dorian, Scott resided and worked full time in Marsh Harbour, Abaco, and was a homeowner on Elbow Cay. Scott returned to Abaco residing now in Treasure Cay and is helping rebuild Abaco and its economy, recently reopening The Ferry (formerly Albury’s Ferry) with new partners, continuing with plans to develop Red Bay and launching Bluewater Builders Bahamas to provide construction services for the rebuilding efforts in Abaco.
Well-respected throughout The Bahamas for his incomparable work ethic, extensive personal and professional network and deep knowledge of Bahamian laws and connections with government officials, Scott takes great pride in immersing himself in every aspect of the Abaco community. As a director on the Board of the Abaco Chamber of Commerce, Scott enjoys helping local businesses thrive, acting as an advocate for the members of his community, and keeping his finger on the pulse of all things Abaco.
Scott has a beautiful daughter, Arabella, who attends McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He also has a wonderful partner in life, Laura, whom he has known since they were teenagers and who also grew up spending time with her family in Grand Bahama. When he is not working, which is very rare, you can find Scott boating, traveling, reading, and brainstorming more ways in which to contribute to the rebuilding of Abaco, the community he loves so dearly.
